Why Travel Solo – The Benefits

If you are dreaming of a holiday but lacking a person to go with, here are some of my thoughts, why to do it solo.

1. MAKING DECISIONS

If it is about choosing a destination or planning activities for the day, it’s your call. You can pick the things and sights you are interested in and plan your own schedules. It is also easier to find cheap travel deals and you can always go when you want. Book a flight for tomorrow!

2. DO THINGS AT YOUR OWN PACE

Feel like having a slow morning or spending the whole day at the beach? Change of plans and you want to stay for another week? No problem. While traveling solo it’s all about yourself.

3. MEET NEW INTERESTING PEOPLE

When you travel within a group, you easily get stuck with the group. That is perfectly fine as well, but it is refreshing and interesting to get to know new people from different backgrounds and stories. Hear what they think and learn where they come from. Being open-minded is the key to meeting new amazing people. Some of them will just pass by but some might stay for life.

4. GROW AS A PERSON

You don’t have to socialize all the time. Get to know yourself. Spend a whole day with the only person you are stuck in here for all your life. Learn about the simple things you like. What makes you feel alive. What makes you smile.

5. CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Get over your fears and just do it. Live a life you remember. Every new adventure, every story heard and people met changes you for life.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones that you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the wind in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.”
